Chapel Park PTA - Reflections

Reflections is a National PTA cultural arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas; develop artistic literacy; increase confidence and creativity; develop critical thinking and problem solving skills; and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.

Students in pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a theme. The theme for the 2025-2026 program year is “I Belong!” Students submit their completed works of art by October 9th in one, or all, of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts.

While the primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity and the arts, student artists receive positive recognition at their schools, and finalists move on to their region for review and recognition. Finalists then advance to Texas State PTA, where Gold Award winners then advance to the National PTA round for judging. Last year’s National PTA Reflections award-winning entries can be found here.

Student Participation

The Reflections program is open to all Chapel Park Students, as long as they are connected with a PTA membership—either their own or through a parent/guardian. Each entry must be the original work of one student only. An adult may not alter the creative integrity of a student’s work. Because the program is designed to encourage and recognize each student’s individual creativity, help from an adult or collaboration with other students is not allowed except in the Accessible Arts Division. Other individuals may appear in or perform a student’s work, but the work itself must be the creative product of one student only.
