Reflections is a National PTA cultural arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas; develop artistic literacy; increase confidence and creativity; develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills; and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life.

Students in pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a theme. The theme for the 2026-2027 program year is “What My Culture Means to Me.” Students submit their completed works of art by October 23rd in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts.

While the primary focus of Reflections is a celebration of creativity and the arts, student artists receive positive recognition at their schools, and finalists move on to their region for review and recognition. Finalists then advance to Texas State PTA, where Gold Award winners then advance to the National PTA round for judging. Each level of Reflections judging will determine how and when their participating students are celebrated. Here is an outline of the awards and recognition received if the entry advances to Texas PTA and National PTA
